How to Differentiate Yourself in an Over Saturated Market - RAMMFIT

Over the last few months, I've come into contact with a lot of aspiring entrepreneurs and founders. That's by no accident either. It's because we are all vibrating on the same frequency. When you do that, you attract each other. That's how the universe works. As a solopreneur, someone who does everything in their business form being a social media manager to book keeper, accountant to photographer, it's energising and inspiring knowing there are other people out there with the same courage, drive and determination I have to win, achieve and succeed. It's intoxicating.

.

The one thing a lot of these aspiring founders have in common is the lack of knowledge when it comes to making themselves stand out from the crowd. Now some people don't like that, they prefer to copy other people, following along with the current "trends" created by other brands or businesses. That's a great short term strategy if you want to make a quick buck but in truth, it's a failing formula if you're interested in taking your venture as far as you can. The cold hard truth is if you want to differentiate yourself, you're going to have to build the courage to stand out, be mocked, misunderstood and ignored for a while. The reason that happens is you need to build trust and humans are like wild birds, they don't like shiny new objects so being shiny and new, something completely unique and original, comes with it's own set of challenges.

.

For those who have already built the courage, drive and determination to stand out and succeed and are ready to take the first step in creating something unique and original, I have some wisdom from experience for you. Being original should come naturally because you yourself are unique and original so why make it harder than it should be? If you want to be original then you need to start creating from the inside out. You need to start embracing your creative side and drawing on your own unique experiences in the world and put it into your work. Be the only person that can do what you do but don't just stop there. Be the best example of what ever it is you're doing so that people start criticising you. I know that sounds daunting, but if you're not attracting critics who feel triggered by what you're doing, you're not trying hard enough.

.

To be creative and original, you need to embrace solitude as well. You will never be your best creative self if you are being distracted by the TV, noise, social media, on the phone to friends etc etc. You literally need to be at peace and alone in a quiet place to let your imagination run wild. You won't be creative and original by talking about it. You need to start somewhere and get used to the fact your first attempt will suck but the best thing about that is, you can only improve from there. My advice is it's not so much about what you keep adding, sometimes it's about what you take away from your original ideas. Simplifying.

.

The worst thing you can possibly do is show your friends and family. The reason I say that is, unless they've been where you're going, they'll never understand the journey you're embarking on. They'll be negative and cynical and won't give you the advice you're looking for. Keep chipping away until you would be happy with what you're doing if you were you own consumer, which you are. Would you be attracted to what ever it is you're trying to achieve? Keep chipping until the right people start taking notice.

.

Have fun and remember, there's no rules.
