Analysis paralysis is when the fear of making the wrong decision takes over, spending way too much time focussing on what could go wrong. It “paralyses” you and in turn, you miss opportunities that present themselves. It is an inability to make a decision due to over-thinking a problem.
I’m no psychologist, but to me it seems to be related to perfectionism where someone waits for the perfect time to do something but that perfect time never comes. Let’s not confuse perfectionism with being a perfectionist because they are two very different things. In a nutshell, a perfectionist is someone who puts their best foot forward seeking excellence, perfectionism is when someone who over thinks can’t take a leap of faith.
How can we eliminate the paralysis by analysis problem and move on? Well, that’s easier said than done but it is possible.
Let me show you one way you can do it.
