Audacity - The art of taking bold risks.
Audacity is the act of being bold or daring, particularly with disregard for danger or failure. I'm not talking about the type of audacity that means you absolutely shit all over someone else or violate the rights of others, I'm talking about the type of audacity you need to overcome fear and timidity. Fear, timidity, doubt in your ability to pull of the impossible or hesitating and being indecisive will infect your execution. What ever you are trying to achieve will be made all the more difficult if you don't have absolute faith in your ability to do what others say can't be done.
There is a fine line when it comes to audacity because it can come across as rude to those who are offended by your ability to take bold action. Audacity is not for the weak. During the process you will more than likely be mocked for your actions, your total disregard for the bullshit rules and boundaries. It takes a strong character to push on regardless with absolute faith and determination. It's not for everyone and someone who lacks the courage and confidence will usually fall flat on their face. You will look foolish and the only way you can win in the face of overwhelming odds is to decide to do it no matter what, which isn't easy when you're being tested. The easy option is to give up and blend in because audacity is one sure way of attracting attention to yourself. You can very easily upset the wrong person and make yourself a target.
In my experience, if you fail, you can be humble and admit defeat or you can be even more audacious and keep pushing forward. As Robert Green said, the mistakes you make through audacity can be corrected with more audacity because its an act of defiance and boldness. No one admires the timid and those lacking in the confidence to take action. No one remembers a quitter. They always admire the bold.
Always have the audacity to question authority. It irritates those in positions of power and forces them to do one of two things. They respond or they react. It's usually the second one because they don't predict it and usually don't know what to do with a free spirited free thinker with the balls to question and speak their mind. If done correctly, you will not be fired or punished, in fact quite the opposite. In my experience, the irony is those with the audacity usually earn the respect of not only their friends and colleagues, but their superiors as well. It's also one way you can put your masculinity on display.
You only get the respect you demand!
